Besides golf legend Arnold Palmer commending my hobby memoir, celebrated entrepreneur Donald Trump praised my recently published book, Hooked on Autographs. In his December 3, 2009, letter to me he said, "Hooked on Autographs is a terrific book and I especially enjoyed the chapter on Arnold Palmer. Both Arnold and Donald were aware that I was giving a portion of my book proceeds to the returning wounded soldiers recuperating at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. "The Donald" went on to say in his letter, "I agree with Arnold that what you are doing for the wounded soldiers at Walter Reed is a wonderful gesture. My first book titled, Hooked on Autographs, is available for sale on Amazon.com for $13.95. My book is about my trials and triumphs of collecting autographed golf balls from celebrities. You name the celebrity and the chances are pretty good that I have an autographed golf ball from that person and that includes U.S. presidents. In the month my book has been on the market, I'm overwhelmed with all the great feedback I've received from the readers. Golf legend Arnold Palmer sent me a wonderful letter dated November 6, 2009, thanking me for honoring him in Chapter 1 in such complimentary terms. Arnie signed my first golf ball on October 25, 1989 at the Transamerica Senior Golf Championship held at Silverado Country Club in Napa, California. His John Hancock launched my collection, regarded as one of the largest autographed golf ball collectons in the country. In his letter to me, he wrote, "It's nice to know that my signature on that golf ball at Silverado years ago launched such a fine collection." This is why Arnold Palmer is considered the most popular and best-loved golfer of all time. He took the time to write to little, old me, about how pleased he was that I devoted Chapter 1 in my book to him.
